National Identification Numbers, NIN has now become mandatory requirement for eligible prospective corps member to register into National Youth Service Corps ,NYSC, this development came following the undercover report by a well known media house which exposed many lapses in corps members mobilization
This was carried in a statement by the NYSC director of press and public relations, Eddy Megwa, on Wednesday 10th January, 2024 that the new policy formed part of the resolution of a meeting between the NYSC management, led by the Director General, Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, and the management of National Identification Management Commission, NIMC, led by its Director General, Abisoye Coker-Odusote, in Abuja.
According to the statement, Mr Ahmed said the collaboration with NIMC on corps mobilisation would strengthen the online registration process for the scheme.
On her part, Mrs Odusote promised the readiness of the commission for collaboration between both agencies. She said the synergy would simplify the entire mobilisation process as well as address multiple issues.
She added that the commission has partnered with several government agencies while promising to present the best services to the nation.
