The Senior Pastor of Cornerstone Christian Leadership Centre (House of Mercy), United Kingdom, Bishop Abayomi Olorunsaiye, has called on the church to rise to its divine mandate as an agent of change in today’s world.
Speaking ahead of the Lagos Holy Ghost Revival Service scheduled for Saturday, October 11, at Freude’s Place, 23 Ikorodu Road, Wasimi, Maryland, Bishop Olorunsaiye said the programme was divinely inspired to rekindle the fire of revival within the body of Christ.
“The programme is a response to God’s instruction and is focused on igniting the fire of revival in the body of Christ,” he said.
“The church today needs a fresh outpouring of God’s Spirit for a spiritual awakening. The church is God’s idea to help the world know and serve Him. It is time for the church to truly be the church. God’s end-time agenda is empowering the church to become an agent of change in this world.”
The cleric described the Lagos meeting as part of a global move of God, following similar revival conferences earlier held in London and Calgary, Canada.
“This is the third city for the Holy Ghost Revival Conference this year,” he explained on arrival in Lagos. “It’s a three-hour programme with a simple goal — to strengthen the church. I am not here to open a new church but to help ignite people’s spiritual lives so they can return to their churches and strengthen their pastors’ hands in doing the work of the Kingdom.”
Bishop Olorunsaiye stressed that the event seeks collaboration, not competition, within the Christian community.
“Every pastor needs help, and having been a pastor for over 30 years, I know this is true. We have come to add our voice to the voices of pastors who are already doing their best. Many pastors who encourage their members to attend will see the positive impact it will have on their ministry,” he added.
Following the Lagos event, the revival series will continue in 2026 across several international cities, including Dallas, Texas; Maryland, Washington, D.C.; Glasgow, Scotland; Abuja, Nigeria; Toronto, Canada; and Calgary, Canada.
