In a press briefing on Sunday, the chairman of the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission, ANSIEC, Genevieve Osakwe announced that APGA won all the 21 chairmanship seats and also cleared the 326 councillorship positions in each of the local government areas, as confirmed at the ward level.

Describing the election as the fairest, Osakwe emphasised that the commission meticulously collated and analysed the results to ensure accuracy.

During the announcement, she detailed the total scores of the APGA candidates, declaring them winners based on the highest votes cast.

She praised the citizens of Anambra State for their strong turnout and expressed gratitude to security agencies for maintaining peace and order throughout the process.

According to the ANSIEC Chairman, “This is to affirm the result of the chairmanship and councillorship election held on September 28, 2024. The commission carefully collated and analysed the results to ensure that there were no mistakes. We ensured all scores and parties were announced at the polling units yesterday. We are here, today, to affirm the results as recorded. The election held at all polling units across Anambra State on September 28 was free, fair, and credible.”

Aside APGA officials and party agents, no other representatives from opposition political parties were present at the ANSIEC office when the results were declared
