Delta State highlife musician, Arube Otor, popularly known as Isoko Fela, has revealed the reasons behind his decision to marry three women on the same day.
Tribune Online reports that the Uzere-born musician became the talk of the town after a wedding flier featuring him dressed in matching attire with his three brides-to-be: Oghenekome, Ewoma, and Oghenekaro went viral on social media.
Speaking in an interview with Punch, Arube explained that his decision was inspired by the example set by his late father and the strong bond among his brides.
He shared that his father had three wives who lived together in harmony, raising their children as one united family.
He noted that this upbringing had a profound impact on him, as it showed him how love and unity could flourish in a polygamous home.
According to him, this experience shaped his perspective on marriage and motivated him to follow a similar path.
He further explained that the choice to marry all three women on the same day was driven by the deep love and mutual respect they share.
Arube said that his brides genuinely care for one another and have shown unwavering support for each other, which gave him confidence that they could live together harmoniously as one family.
He said, “First of all, I am Arube Otor, popularly known as Isoko Fela. I am from Uzere, Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State, and I am a musician who plays Isoko highlife music.
“What inspired me to decide to marry three women on the same day is rooted in my father’s example. When my father was alive, he married three women, and the remarkable thing was that when these women had children, you couldn’t tell which woman gave birth to which child. We lived together, ate together, and played together. This experience, growing up in such a unified family, greatly influenced my decision to marry three additional women.
“The reason I decided to marry them on the same day is because of the deep love the three women share for one another. They genuinely care for each other, and I could see the unity among them. This made it easier for me to decide that I would marry them on the same day, as they support one another in every way.”
The wedding is scheduled to take place on January 19, 2025, at the Anglican Church Field in Uzere, Isoko South Local Government Area.
