Perpetual Ukadike, a 27-year-old model, businesswoman, and aspiring actress from Imo state, is representing Nigeria at the 2024 Miss International beauty pageant in Japan.
The preliminary competition kicks off on November 10, followed by the grand finale on November 12 at the Tokyo Dome City Hall.
The pageant has brought together 73 contestants worldwide, including representatives from African countries and major nations.
Perpetual is joined by contestants from Cote D’Ivoire, Cape Verde, Ethiopia, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and South Africa.
Other participating countries include Argentina, Laos, Luxembourg, France, Albania, Germany, Ecuador, Canada, Honduras, Panama, New Zealand, Cuba, El Salvador, and Guatemala.
Participants have been in Japan since October 29, engaging in various competitions and initiatives.
Perpetual was crowned the Beauty of Africa International Pageant (BAIP) winner at the 17th edition in August. The model holds a degree in History and International Studies from the University of Calabar (UNICAL)
She is also the founder of The Girls Dream Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young girls.
Andrea Rubio of Venezuela holds the Miss International title after winning the competition in 2023.
Miss International is a Japan-based international major beauty pageant organized by the International Culture Association. First held in 1960, it is the fourth-largest pageant in the world in terms of the number of national winners participating in the international contest.
