The Senior Pastor of The Second Coming of Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa has described the confessions made by a former Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida as late.

Giwa stated that while Babangida has confessed to his sins against Nigerians as a people and the late Moshood Abiola who won the June 12, 1993 presidential election, he also failed to ask citizens for forgiveness.

He also noted that Babangida’s confession is coming at a time when Abiola, who would have been the key beneficiary of the truth, can no longer regain his mandate.

Giwa said, “IBB only confessed his sin, but he never asked Nigerians for forgiveness. It’s unfortunate that most of our political leaders don’t think about the legacies they leave behind.

“As it is, they only think about how to pursue or satisfy their interests, forgetting that you brought nothing to this world and will leave with nothing. The Lord will ask you on Judgment Day to produce a record of your stewardship,” Giwa said.

Speaking further, the cleric said God hates oppression and injustice as history will judge everyone including Nigerian leaders accordingly.

He also warned that a nation that forgets its history or past, so to say, has no future.

“The confession of IBB is coming late. I wonder what could have kept him so long before publicly admitting that MKO actually won the 1993 election – after 31 years,” he added.
