The All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship candidate for the February 21, 2026 election in Kuje Area Council of the FCT, Danjuma Samuel Shekwolo, has urged residents to take advantage of the upcoming continuous voter registration exercise.
Slated for August 2025 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the exercise provides an opportunity for eligible voters to register at their respective polling units.
Shekwolo made the call on Friday during a “thank you” tour to the Yenche ward of the council.
He specifically encouraged residents, especially eligible voters who may have misplaced their voter cards, to obtain new ones during this period, emphasizing that the voter card is their power to participate in the forthcoming council election.
He noted that some eligible voters, particularly in rural communities, might be unaware of INEC’s plan to commence the continuous voter registration exercise, hence his visit to educate them.
The APC chairmanship candidate, accompanied by the FCT State APC Welfare Secretary, Alhaji Ibrahim Koko, and other party executives, stated that he decided to embark on a “thank you” tour across all ten wards of the council to express gratitude to delegates and stakeholders for their support during the recent primary election.
Our correspondent reports that the APC chairmanship candidate also visited Rubochi ward, where he addressed the party’s ward executives, stakeholders, elders’ forum, and women’s group in the area.
