A statement by Mr. Tunde Moshood, the Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the minister on Wednesday, said that Keyamo made the statement on Tuesday in the state during the inspection of the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

He said that the essence of the inspection was to determine the readiness of the airport’s for non-schedule passenger operations.

The statement said that Keyamo who was on a two-day working visit to the state, was welcomed by Mr. Abiodun Oyebanji, the Governor of Ekiti State, alongside the key members of the State Government.

Keyamo lauded the State Government for the construction of the state-of-the-art facilities and the airport’s international-standard runway, which he said positioned it as a hub for agro-cargo and emerging passenger operations.

The statement expressed that the minister’s visit further reaffirmed the ministry’s dedication to creating a robust and inclusive aviation ecosystem that supports both cargo and passenger operations.

The airport was recently approved for non-scheduled passenger operations by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

In his comment, Adebanji congratulated Keyamo on his 55th birthday and expressed gratitude for his commitment to aviation.

The statement added: “The Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport is strategically positioned to support Nigeria’s non-oil export strategy, providing farmers and exporters with seamless access to international markets.

“With its operational advancements and continued support from the Federal Government, the airport is set to become a catalyst for socio-economic development.”
