The Tyler Fray Foundation has launched a music scholarship programme to empower young Nigerian talents.

The scholarship, in partnership with the Ten Strings Music School, aims to support aspiring musicians in pursuing their dreams and budding careers.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be Nigerian residents between the ages of 16 and 25, demonstrate a strong passion for pursuing a music career, show a clear financial need for the scholarship, and commit to completing the programme.

Interested candidates can apply online and submit audio and video recordings showcasing their musical talents.

The foundation was established in memory of Oloruntoba Oluwadamilola Falode, also known as Tyler Fray, who passed away in 2014 at 19.

Tyler was a passionate musician who was studying music professionally in Dubai. On February 15, 2014, he fell from the 17th floor of a high-rise building in Dubai.

He was the son of Aisha Falode, the ace sports broadcaster and former chairperson of the Nigerian Women’s Football League. Falode, an executive committee member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), is also a member of the foundation’s board of trustees.

Other board members include Jadesola Falode, Mike Itemuagbor, Genny Adeosun, Bashorun Dele Momodu, and Ehi Braimah.

The foundation’s mission is to keep Tyler’s memory alive by supporting young Nigerian musicians who share his passion for music. The foundation aims to empower the next generation of Nigerian music creatives to achieve their dreams by providing scholarships and opportunities for music education.
