Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to merit-based appointments following the conclusion of the first stage in the selection process for permanent secretary positions within the Federal Civil Service.
According to a statement by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Eno Olotu, out of 73 accredited candidates, 70 participated in the written examination, with 53 successfully advancing to the next phase, underscoring the wealth of talent within the service.
The next assessment, an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) proficiency test, is set for today, September 17, aimed at evaluating candidates’ digital skills essential for modern governance.
Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack, described the selection exercise as credible, competitive and aligned with the government’s vision for a professional and accountable public service.
She emphasised the commitment to promoting only competent, integrity-driven, and visionary leaders to the highest ranks of the civil service.
The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation assured Nigerians that the process was conducted with fairness and integrity, supporting the broader government reforms for effective public service leadership.
