Obehie, Ukwa West LGA of Abia State has been thrown into mourning as six members of one family was discovered dead.

Our source disclosed that the remains of the six family members were discovered by their neighbors.

The community and neighboring villages still in shock over the incidence. which took place on Wednesday 9 August 2024 at Isi Obehie community,

Main cause of their death have not been officially known but a source in the  community claimed that the victims may have died from inhaling generator fumes.

There have been different angle of the story as some claims that the victims death may not be unconnected to ‘spiritual attack’.

The community source further revealed that three children, their mother, the mother’s sister and her brother in-law died in the incident.

According to him, the father, who was away from home at the period of the incident, is the only surviving member of the household.

The source claimed that the victims were natives of another local government of Abia but have been residing in Obehie, before their tragic death.

The identities of the victims have not been made known but the spokesperson of Abia State Police Command, ASP Maureen Chinaka, confirmed to Afrimarknews that the Command has received the report of the incident.

ASP Maureen affirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the deaths.

“We got such report, investigation is ongoing to unveil the cause of death”, the Police spokesperson said.
