Italian Serie A club AC Milan stand to pocket €23 million (₦39 billion) if Fulham decides to make Samuel Chukwueze’s transfer permanent next summer, Soccernet.ng reports.

After being deemed surplus to requirements, Chukwueze joined Fulham on transfer deadline day via a season-long loan. Instead of an obligation-to-buy clause, the clubs opted for an option-to-buy clause.

It has been a slow start to life for Chukwueze at Fulham, but he is slowly making an impression on coach Marco Silva.

He made his fifth Premier League appearance off the bench for the Cottagers last week against Sunderland, and he put on a show.

Despite playing just 30 minutes, Chukwueze was voted Man of the Match. According to Sofascore, he was the highest-rated player in the game.

If Chukwueze can produce that kind of performance consistently, coach Marco Silva will definitely give him a more prominent role in the team.

Can Samuel Chukwueze Play His Way to a Permanent Contract?

As it stands, Samuel Chukwueze is at a critical point in his career. If he fails at Fulham, he will not be welcomed with open arms at AC Milan. He would have to move to a smaller club or one outside the top five European leagues.

Hence, he must perform well and make a mark so he can secure a permanent contract. He needs to continue playing well and seize the few opportunities he gets with both hands.

If the Super Eagles star performs well, he will likely get a permanent deal at Fulham. According to Sempre Milan, the Cottagers would have to pay Milan €23 million to make the transfer permanent.

This is a quite affordable fee for a club like Fulham, and they would be more than happy to pay it if Chukwueze impresses.

The Cottagers’ next game is a London derby against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, and Chukwueze will be hoping to get his maiden start of the season for the club.
