Pertinence Group has unveiled Genius App, a financial technology platform to empower Nigerians with savings, credit access, and business tools.

The launch took place at its Wealth Summit, which drew more than 7,000 participants.

With the theme: “The Real Money of Lagos,” it attracted students, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders seeking strategies to create wealth and financial independence.

Dr. Sunday Olorunsheyi, co-founder and chair of Pettysave Microfinance Bank, said the app goes beyond savings.

“We create platforms for financial freedom. Genius is a tool people can succeed with. We don’t just complain; we provide solutions to update lives, like software updates.’’

Olorunsheyi stressed that the summit was not simply about large gatherings but about life-changing impact.

“People come here and return a different version of themselves. By the time they come back next year, they perform better,” he added.

Since inception, Pertinence has supported more than 100 businesses and empowered thousands of Nigerians through incentives as cars, international trips, and home ownership.

One of the high points of the day was a raffle draw that saw more than 20 attendees win cash prizes between N20,000 and N100,000, while the grand prize of N1 million went to Mr. Oluwaseye Oyetunji, who called it a “timely boost” for his business.

Chairman of Coscharis Group, Dr. Cosmas Maduka (CON), urged young Nigerians to embrace discipline, saving, and long-term vision. He shared his own journey from hawking spare parts at age 10 to building one of the nation’s biggest conglomerates.

“Only a fool spends all he has. Start saving early, even from age five. What matters is access, relationships, and value creation,” Maduka told the audience.

Pertinence Co-founder, Wisdom Ezekiel, challenged the belief that capital is the most important factor in starting a business. Reflecting on his limited education, he said:

“The first thing you need for your business is not capital. You need to demonstrate that you are a resourceful person. Resources will always follow resourceful people.”

Financial literacy advocate Olumide Emmanuel and Meristem Trustees MD, Damilola Hassan, commended the summit for equipping Nigerians with practical knowledge.

Hassan said the Genius App offers a modern, secure alternative to traditional ajo and esusu systems.

“The summit is bridging the wealth gap. It’s not just giving motivation; it’s showing people the systems and habits they need to move from where they are to where they want to be,” Emmanuel added

Other speakers, including Mr. Olushola Olaleye, shared insights on leadership, technology, and business systems, reinforcing the summit’s theme of holistic wealth creation.
