The Federal University Gashua today held its maiden combined convocation ceremony, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s history. The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, distinguished personalities and traditional Rulers from different states.
In his address, Governor Buni expressed his deep humility and gratitude for being conferred with an honorary doctorate degree by the university. He congratulated the university governing council, Vice Chancellor, Professor Maimuna Waziri, management, staff, and students on this historic occasion.
The Governor praised the university for maintaining peace and industrial harmony, as well as peaceful coexistence with the host community. He also acknowledged the university’s progress, including the provision of infrastructure and facilities to meet the requirements of course accreditation.
Governor Buni pledged his administration’s continued support for education in Yobe State, emphasizing the importance of education in developing the state’s human capital. He urged the university community to continue striving for excellence and making the institution a center of academic excellence.
