All is set for the release of Ayo Makun aka AY’s latest movie, ‘The Waiter,’ an action-comedy film that promises to thrill audiences.
The movie, which features an ensemble cast, including Richard Mofe-Damijo, Shaffy Bello, and Regina Daniels, Williams Uchemba, Deyemi Okanlawon, AY Makun, Toke Makinwa will debut in cinemas on December 20, 2024.
At a press luncheon in Lagos, AY, who is also the CEO, Corporate World Entertainment, and executive producer of the flick explained the inspiration behind the movie.
“We decided to bring the Akpos brand back home, after touring different countries. The idea is to get the home quality, content, and relate it to the home story itself. We have a beautiful story which is going to be the bomb. This is going to be better than every other thing I have done. If you want to get quality film, you must put in the numbers. It is a huge budget.”
The film director Toka McBaror, who worked with AY on the project, expressed his excitement about the film.
“When I first saw the script, I told AY that it couldn’t be done because of the huge imagination of the writer. But AY said we could do it, and I’m happy we took the risk.”
McBaror, who has been in the industry for over 25 years, revealed that “The Waiter” is a special project that has left him with a good feeling. “I’ve never liked my work, but this one is different. I’m excited about it, and I think audiences will love it too.”
With its star-studded cast and promising storyline, The Waiter produced by Darlington Abuda is set to be a blockbuster hit.
