The pan-Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has congratulated the Minister of Works, Senator (Engr) David Nweze Umahi, on his 61st birthday.

Ohanaeze, in a statement by its Secretary-General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, described the former governor of Ebonyi State as a beacon of exceptional leadership and lauded his dedication to the advancement of the Southeast region and Nigeria as a whole.

“The esteemed Ohanaeze Ndigbo organisation wishes to extend its heartfelt congratulations and celebratory wishes to Senator Dave Umahi on the occasion of his 61st birthday on the 25th of July, 2024.

“Senator Umahi, known affectionately as the “Working Minister of Works,” is a beacon of exceptional leadership and dedication to the advancement of the Southeast region and Nigeria as a whole.

“Senator Dave Umahi, a true servant leader of the Southeast, has been a shining example of humility and dedication, rising from a humble background to become not only a certified engineer but also a party leader and builder of the youth.

“His devout Christian faith and unwavering commitment to the service of the people have endeared him to many, earning him the title of the gift of the Southeast to President Tinubu and Nigeria.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo proudly recognises Senator Umahi as the new rallying point for the Igbo nation, following the footsteps of our departed legends such as Dim Odimegwu Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, Dr. Michael Okpara, Rt. Hon. Dr. Francis Akanu Ibiam, Dr. Sam Mbakwe, and Dr. C.C Onoh. Senator Umahi’s tenure as the former Governor of Ebonyi State saw a remarkable transformation of the state from the least developed to a vibrant and economically viable entity.

“As the current Minister of Works, Senator Umahi has continued to demonstrate his humility and professionalism in delivering his duties with diligence and excellence. His innovative approach to infrastructure development, particularly in the utilisation of cement technology, has been lauded by Ndigbo and all Nigerians alike,” the statement read in part.

Isiguzoro reiterated that Umahi remains a pivotal figure in garnering the support of the Southeast for President Bola Tinubu, stating that he is “our beloved leader in whom the people of the Southeast are well pleased. We recognise and appreciate Senator Umahi’s dedication to the advancement of the Southeast and Nigeria at large, and we pray for God’s continued guidance and protection of him and his family in all their endeavours.

“Happy Birthday, Senator Dave Umahi, and may you continue to lead with distinction and integrity for many more years to come.”
