The University Don made the appeal during a one-day workshop on fostering entrepreneurial values among students, organized by the leadership of the Association of Students of English and Literary Studies at the university.

He stressed that a curriculum that prioritizes skill development across all fields of study would not only create job opportunities but also help curb idleness among young people.

On his paper presentation during the occasion Dr. Vincent Paul from the Department of Entrepreneurship Studies, highlighted the importance of students diversifying their skill sets and leveraging information and communication technology to improve their economic prospects.

Dr. Rani, further called on the government to provide grants for unemployed youths seeking to pursue entrepreneurship in fields such as agriculture, commerce, and technology.

Miss Faridah Titilayo Salawudeen, President of the National Association of Students of English and Literary Studies, emphasized the need for youth engagement in national development, citing that proactive youth programs would prevent them from falling into negative influences, especially during election.

The workshop, themed “Building Entrepreneurial Value as a Viable Path Toward Achieving Self-Reliance After Graduation,” aimed to inspire students to adopt self-sustaining skills for a prosperous future.
