The sudden and shocking demise of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, representing Anambra South Senatorial District, has sent waves of grief across the nation.

Senator Uche Ekwunife, Director General of the South East Governors’ Forum, over the weekend, issued a heartfelt press release lamenting the loss.

Senator Ekwunife described the news as a “rude shock” and devastating, adding that (that) has left her struggling to come to terms with the reality.

She praised Senator Ubah as an astute politician with deep empathy for humanity and a true representative of the masses.

The press release also extended condolences to Senator Ubah’s wife, Mrs. Uche Ubah, and their children, urging them to find strength in this difficult time. Senator Ekwunife reminded them that they are not alone in their grief.

Senator Ekwunife’s statement consoled the Nnewi community, Anambra South Senatorial District, Anambra State, the Nigerian Senate, and the entire Igbo nation.

Mr Valentine Ozigbo, in his condolence message, said it is with deep sadness and shock that he received the news of the passing of a dear brother, Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah.
He said Senator Ubah, who began from humble beginnings, exemplified how one can overcome limitations through unwavering dedication and make a significant impact on their community, state, and country.

Ozigbo said that Ubah started his career in Nigeria’s business sector as a passionate promoter and Managing Director of Capital Oil & Gas Industries Limited.

He said Senator Ubah’s ambitions served as an inspiration to many young Nigerians and his success demonstrated that with hard work and conviction, one can achieve greatness in any field.

He said his transition into politics was marked by the same visionary spirit, leading him to serve two terms as a Senator, and his contributions extended beyond politics into sports and media, where he made notable impacts.

According to him, Senator Ubah embodied the ‘think home’ mentality, a hallmark of the Igbo people, particularly from Anambra, noting that his commitment to the service and welfare of his community and society at large will be profoundly missed.

” I extend my heartfelt condolences to his wife, Mrs. Uchenna Ubah, their children, his friends, associates, the Nnewi community, Anambra South Senatorial District, the State, and the Nigerian Senate.

May the soul of Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah rest in perfect peace,” he prayed.

The founder of Olivia University, Burundi, and Pro-Chancellor of Benue State University, Markurdi, Sir Paul Chukwuma, has also expressed deep sorrow over the death of Senator Ubah, praising him for his impactful life and significant contributions to the Igbo community and Nigeria.

Chukwuma, through his spokesperson Chukwuemeka Obi, highlighted Ubah’s dedication, philanthropy, and the void his passing leaves in his senatorial zone and beyond.

He extended condolences to Ubah’s family and announced a 30-day suspension of political activities in Anambra State as a mark of respect and collective mourning.

” Ifeanyi Ubah was a brother and political associate whose energy was infectious, and he gave all of it to anything he believed in. He was a philanthropist who cared and loved his people.

“His death came as a shock and has left a big vacuum for his senatorial zone, Ndi Anambra, Ndi Igbo, and indeed Nigeria.

He will be missed. In the relatively short time he was on earth, he lived with purpose and like a man on a mission”

“On behalf of myself and my family, I condole with the Ubah family of Nnewi, his wife and children. I pray that God consoles them and give them the brevity to forge ahead, recognising that Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah lives on in the memories of many whose lives he touched”

” In his honour, I have instructed my team to put on hold all political activities in Anambra state for the next 30 days as we grieve this enormous loss together as a political family,” he statement.
