The training, which took place at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Fountain of Joy Lugbe Area, Abuja, brought together participants from diverse backgrounds, all united by a desire to tap into the vast opportunities of the digital economy. With industries rapidly transforming due to technological advancement, the initiative aimed at empowering individuals with essential knowledge and practical competencies required to thrive in today’s digitally driven world.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, the executive Director of the Foundation Pastor Sunny Davids, noted that the training was part of the organization’s mandate to “prepare young Nigerians to access global opportunities, create wealth and contribute meaningfully to national growth.” He emphasized that profitability and sustainability in the modern business environment now depend largely on digital literacy.

“Nigeria has a large youth population with incredible potential. But without access to digital skills, many are unable to fully participate in the new economy. This program is designed to close that gap,” he stated.

Bridging the Skills Gap for Socio-economic Growth

Over the period of the training, participants were exposed to a wide range of digital competencies including:

  • Social media management for business visibility
  • Online Entrepreneurship Skill
  • Digital marketing, content creation and Video Editing
  • Website basics and e-commerce applications
  • Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis

Well informed professionals delivered hands-on sessions, offering practical guidance on how to explore digital platforms for entrepreneurship, income generation, and career advancement. Participants also worked on real-life projects, positioning them to immediately deploy what they have learned.

A beneficiary of the program, Joyce Chinyere Ekeh , described the training as a life-changing opportunity.

“Before now, I only do some basic editing but this training has opened my eyes to how I can earn online, build a personal brand and even help small businesses around me promote their products through social media,” she shared.

Another participant, Sunday Oto-Obong expressed gratitude to the facilitators, noting that the training has given him confidence to venture deeper into the content creation industry.

“Now I can create marketing content and assist individuals who need visibility for their work. It has given me hope and a sense of direction.”

Driving Innovation through Partnerships

The Executive Director of Assertive Life Empowerment Foundation, Pastor Sunny Davids, thanked partners and sponsors for backing the initiative. He appealed for expanded collaboration from government agencies, NGOs, private organizations and patriotic individuals so that more young Nigerians can be reached.

“Supporting digital education is not just philanthropy; it is a strategic investment in national development. When youths are equipped with digital skills, we reduce unemployment, stimulate innovation and create a stronger economy,” he said.

He further stressed that the Foundation will continue to organize similar training programs—especially in underserved communities—until many more citizens can confidently leverage technology to transform their lives.

Certification and Future Plans

Participants were presented with certificates of completion as well as access to post-training mentorship, which will guide them in turning their newly acquired skills into profitable ventures. The Foundation announced that advanced modules such as graphics design, website development, e-commerce management, and coding will form part of the next phase of the program.

The event ended on a joyful note as participants networked, shared ideas, and expressed their eagerness to begin their digital entrepreneurship journeys.
